Silver Ages / Goddesses on The Key (and Fleetwood Mac)

Thanks to Maureen Walsh for the nice review of the Silver Ages / The Goddesses performance in Philadelphia a few days ago, and for capturing some great photos and great videos!

You can read/see the full story here.

“The highlight of the evening was a version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Save Me a Place,” performed by the Goddesses, the Silver Ages, and Buried Beds’ Eliza Jones. It encompassed everything Pat Berkery enthused about in his introduction: a love of music, a sense of community, and making beautiful harmonies together.”

The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society does Tusk

“Before I start, I’d just like to say that it’s one of the great pleasures of my life to be on this stage with these people tonight.”  (I just wanted to geek out, The Last Waltz style, and steal a sentence from Neil Young, before the entire Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society starts geeking out, Tusk style.  Neil said it about The Band, and I’m stealing his sentiment, and saying it about TLBAS.)

I am thrilled, and re-thrilled, to announce that The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society will be performing Tusk, in its entirety, starting at Johnny D’s in Somerville, MA this Thursday, September 19th (buy tickets), at Littlefield in Brooklyn on Friday, September 20th (buy tickets), and at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia on Saturday, September 21st (buy tickets).

We are a collective of musicians/Lindsey & Mac obsessives based out of Philadelphia. We performed the most punk rock soft rock album ever (and Lindsey Buckingham’s enduring creative statement), Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk in its entirety over three shows in May 2010. We tackled the follow-up, 1982’s Mirage – along with other assorted Lindsey/Mac gems – at two shows in February 2012. We’re doing Tusk again in 2013.

Our current lineup features founding members Charlie Hall (vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with Jens Lekman, The War on Drugs, Windsor for the Derby, Tommy Guerrero and leader of the Philadelphia-based male choral ensemble The Silver Ages) and Patrick Berkery (who has played drums with The War on Drugs, Pernice Brothers, Danielson, John Wesley Harding, Mazarin and others).  The current lineup also includes past TLBAS participants Birdie Busch (a Philadelphia-based singer and songwriter), Dave Hartley (The War on Drugs, Nightlands), and Eliza Hardy Jones (Buried Beds).
