Tony Goddess lives and works in Gloucester, MA, running Bang-A-Song. He has spent the last decade in a variety of musical situations from writing songs with international pop artists like Guster and Bleu, performing with girl-group legend La La Brooks (The Crystals), Bebe Buell (70’s celebrity, mother of Liv Tyler) and Sunburned Hand of the Man, and participating in the production of records by iconic Boston favorites Willie “Loco” Alexander and The Rudds.
Tony’s second band, pApAs fritAs, was formed in the fall of 1992 and was signed by Minty Fresh Records in 1994. Three albums and six years of world tours followed both headlining and supporting The Flaming Lips, The Cardigans, Blur and The Eels, among others. Ten years after their final show promoting the release of their last full-length LP “Buildings and Grounds”, pApAs fritAs reunited at the invitation of the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, Spain on May 29th, 2011 (preceded by reunion shows in Gloucester and Boston, MA, Brussels, Paris and Marseilles), and ended the year recording a new song, and serving as featured performers on the fourth season of Nickelodeon‘s hit TV show, Yo Gabba Gabba.
Most recently, Tony and his wife spent three years recording and performing with Jenny Dee & the Deelinquents, which culminated in 2010 with slots opening for The J. Geils Band and Aerosmith at Fenway Park, and at Boston’s Symphony Hall supporting Bettye LaVette.
