If you’ve never been inside a recording studio, or if you’re more than familiar with the nooks and crannies of the live room, come celebrate the season with us. [Facebook Event]

Any amount of time in between Clock Strikes Ten gigs is too long. So you’ll be pleased to know that Clock Strikes Ten will be performing two sets of nothing but classic Cheap Trick at Johnny D’s in Somerville on Saturday night, November 16th starting at 10pm. (Super secret guest appearance promised. Hint: It rhymes with “Podzilla“. See below.)
The Goddesses and The Cripple Cove Quartet will be helping host Monday’s Open Jam at The Rhumb Line tonight, September 30th starting at 9pm. Come and sing along…..
“Before I start, I’d just like to say that it’s one of the great pleasures of my life to be on this stage with these people tonight.” (I just wanted to geek out, The Last Waltz style, and steal a sentence from Neil Young, before the entire Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society starts geeking out, Tusk style. Neil said it about The Band, and I’m stealing his sentiment, and saying it about TLBAS.)
I am thrilled, and re-thrilled, to announce that The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society will be performing Tusk, in its entirety, starting at Johnny D’s in Somerville, MA this Thursday, September 19th (buy tickets), at Littlefield in Brooklyn on Friday, September 20th (buy tickets), and at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia on Saturday, September 21st (buy tickets).
We are a collective of musicians/Lindsey & Mac obsessives based out of Philadelphia. We performed the most punk rock soft rock album ever (and Lindsey Buckingham’s enduring creative statement), Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk in its entirety over three shows in May 2010. We tackled the follow-up, 1982’s Mirage – along with other assorted Lindsey/Mac gems – at two shows in February 2012. We’re doing Tusk again in 2013.
Our current lineup features founding members Charlie Hall (vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with Jens Lekman, The War on Drugs, Windsor for the Derby, Tommy Guerrero and leader of the Philadelphia-based male choral ensemble The Silver Ages) and Patrick Berkery (who has played drums with The War on Drugs, Pernice Brothers, Danielson, John Wesley Harding, Mazarin and others). The current lineup also includes past TLBAS participants Birdie Busch (a Philadelphia-based singer and songwriter), Dave Hartley (The War on Drugs, Nightlands), and Eliza Hardy Jones (Buried Beds).
When was the last time the CCQ + The Goddesses played on a Wednesday night? We were asking ourselves the same thing. Which is why we’re please to be joining Dennis Monagle at Minglewood Tavern for his Wednesday night staple: The Monagle Sessions. Three sets start at 9pm and end at midnight (09/12).
Join Brian King, Renee Dupuis and Dan King and me for some Stevie Nicks tunes to accompany the new documentary, “In Your Dreams”, being screened at the Cape Ann Community Cinema this Thursday, September 12th. Tickets are $10.
And it wouldn’t be Fleetwood Mac month if there were just one Mac event. The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society is back at it: performing TUSK in its entirety in Somerville, MA (on 09/19), in Brooklyn, NY (on 09/20), and in Philadelphia, PA (on 09/21). Read about the TLBAS, its esteemed members, and how much fun we’ve had, and are going to have. Then come join us. Tickets to Johnny D’s in Somerville are available on the Facebook Event page.
Join The Cripple Cove Quartet featuring The Goddesses at Mile Marker One on Sunday, September 1st from 4pm-7pm.
