Thanks to everyone who was working at Bang-A-Song this fall. A lot of new albums were released since we last updated you, and we’re happy to recommend them! Dig in….

Jon Butcher‘s new LP is entitled “360°” and is available on Amazon, Apple Music, and Spotify.
Second Balcony Jump’s first single in 2019 is called “Cut To The Lip” and features a vocal performance from Emily Grogan.
Willie Alexander and The Fishtones have released “Aqua Vega” in full on BandCamp for your listening enjoyment.

Suriel’s debut LP is entitled ‘Blank Slate’, and it’s not only one of the 7 Best Hip Hop Albums in Boston (according to WBUR), it’s also available on Amazon Music and all of these streaming services. (And I neglected to mention his new official music video for ‘Real Life’! Drat!)
The 77 Everythings have tried to prove themselves wrong by naming their new album “Nothing’s Perfect“.
Glympses new self-titled full-length can be blasted immediately on Spotify, with Faith, Time, Love. (And check out the official music video for “Medicine Man”!)

The Disgraceland Players put some tracks down to accompany new episodes on Spade Cooley, Big Lurch and Rick James. (Season 3 kicks up in February…subscribe!)
Telamor released a new single entitled “Communication Breakdown” on Spotify and all the streaming services.
And because we’re impatient, and excited, Matt Rhodes will release his full length solo LP “Slightly At Sea” on January 25th. (ACTUALLY, NOW IT IS OUT!!! Check out “Slightly At Sea” on CDBaby, Spotify, and Apple Music. And…the album’s official music videos here.)

Morgan Minsk has released a new Official Video for ‘I Emerge’. It’s gorgeous.
Quentin Callewaert has released a new video entitled ‘Water Music in D Major’ featuring his regularly lovely fingerpicking sounds.
Cables and Lines has released a new music video for “Meadow”.

In The Studio:

Koi Wolf made their amps howl. Kim Blisard came to dance. Over the Bridge crossed into Studio C. Northwest Fox recorded a few more tracks before setting sail. Crunchtime crunched. The Dazies started a new EP. Safety played it dangerous. Quentin Callewaert kept us young. Toby Mountain made a difference. Second Balcony Jump cut their Third record. Harry and the Potters cast their mixes. Satch Kerans swung into C. The Instigators finished what they started. Jones Creek paddled through the overdubs. Sound Harbor held a class. Meg Griffin voiced a podcast. Joe Wilkins cut a rhythm section. John Jerome got going on the next one. Lisa Manning waxed poetic. Matt Smith spent some time in Studio C. Amanda Mena crooned some tunes.

In The Studio/New Releases: Summer 2018

It took us until the last day of summer to stop tracking (and swimming) and rocking (and sweating) long enough to bring you the news about who’s been at Bang A Song working, and who’s put their new Bang A Song stuff out for your listening pleasure.

New Releases:

The new long player from The Only Things is available at Bandcamp and Apple Music.
John Jerome released his self-titled album this summer, and if you’re lucky enough to have caught him at Harbor Loop, at the Bluefin Blowout, at The Rhumb Line, on North Shore 104.9 (you get the idea), then you should have a copy of the CD by now. If you do not, you should check it out on Spotify.
Alexandra and Josh recorded and released The Colour Lilac on all platforms (Itunes | Amazon | Spotify | CD Baby) and they held a proper record-release party to celebrate the accomplishment!
Second Balcony Jump released the second single from the album “Get Up”, and it’s a smooth and saxy piece entitled “Blind“. And if you’re in the mood to bang a little, the third single “Do It Again” features choice performances from Kinetik, DJ Slipwax, and Heavy Stud. I mean, that’s just stacking the deck….and we like it!

In The Studio:

Leo Ciaramataro found the groove and caught it on tape.
Jon Butcher started his next solo record.
The Disgraceland Players shot two more episodes.
Telamor worked on LP 7.
Satch Kerans overdubbed and ran his band.
Wilson put the finishing touches on his debut LP.

Check out Wilson781 and his new music video for “Ghetto Dreams” off the ‘Rise‘ EP.
Pete Koeplin drummed out a Sten Bowen score for both the trailer and for the new film ‘A Thousand Miles Behind‘.
New music written and produced by Sir Be: “Same Road” featuring Soul Rebel is available on Sound Cloud.
